2025 saw the publication of the collected Pop Culture & 2 Minute Noodles, a classic Australian comic that ran in various formats from 1990 to 2002. I drew one of the stories in 2001 (written by Aussie comics legend Dillon Naylor), and later wrote a script that was illustrated in 2025 by also-legend Bruce Mutard. Both stories appear in the collection, along with a jaw-dropping 285 page catalogue of peak down-under comics.
Pop Culture & 2 Minute Noodles is a comedy/drama about life in a Melbourne share house at the end of last century. At its height it was sold in newsagents, and it also appeared in underground magazines and limited run specials.
A Kickstarter for the release was fully funded, and the resulting book is gorgeous. It’s coffee-table-worthy. Straight to the Pool Room!
Despite pushing this on social media during the Kickstarter campaign, I completely forgot to add it to my own actual site on the interwebs until now. So, uh.
